This conversation between Evan Barrett, Bob Brown, and Dorothy gets into the details of foundational institutional changes aimed at protecting the quality of Montana Life in the 1970's: https://digitalcommons.mtech.edu/crucible_episodes/33/ The title of the episode is a tip of the hat to Joseph Kinsey Howard. His 1944 book, "Montana High Wide and Handsome" may have lit the fire of the forge for the crucible of change.

Dorothy speaks of "another era" of Montana politics ~ congeniality forward. Incredibly sad when a comparison is visible with our current legislators. This state has lost incredible female talent with Dorothy heading the list; followed by Denise Juneau, Kathleen Williams, Nancy Keenan, Amanda Curtis, Monica Tranel and others I am probably missing. WOW! Great interview!
