The five stages of grief were introduced by Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in her 1969 book On Death and Dying,[12] and was inspired by her work with terminally ill patients.
Your perseverance is so admirable. Honestly, for an artist, rejection and waiting for someone to dispense judgement on your creative output can soul crushing.
Every artist has in every time has had to deal with that era’s economic jungle. As the Beach Boys sang, “It Takes a Mess of Help to Stand Alone.” Reaching out is the right thing. Good on ya!
I hope you sent a blistering letter to that agent. The gall and rudeness of some people astounds me. Even a writer as talented as yourself couldn't make it up. I have my oars in the same waters and can relate, which is why all my books are self-published... but still I hanker for an agent and publisher... can't help myself. Just don't stop, RR.
Fantastic! This should be required reading for all writers. There is no smooth, "normal" path at all and I am SO glad you are taking the leap and investing in yourself. Love the advance notices, too. you are good at this legwork, so keep it up!

Writing: proves dirty, dangerous, soul-sapping. Some stumble onto what others care about. Then there's famous people's stories about important things.
