In November of 2026, Kassi Solberg moved from Northern Idaho to Broadview, Montana with her husband Brendan and her eight-year-old daughter Zoe. A couple of months later, she caught wind of a huge development that was in the works just outside Broadview. There are plans to build a data center there that will cover 5000 acres, and every effort she has made to gather information about this project has been met with broad descriptions that don’t reveal any of the actual details of what Quantica, a Houston-based company that is behind the project, or Big Sky Digital Infrastructure, the local company that is developing the project, have in mind. Solberg was the main subject of a New York Times article about the project, and she has since been sued by the Yellowstone County Commission for introducing an initiative that would allow Yellowstone County voters to get more information and make an informed decision about whether they want this project in their county.
