After growing up in Alaska, and attending college at Carnegie Mellon and the Cleveland Institute of Music, as well as Julliard, Carrie Krause moved to Montana to teach violin and pursue her passion for performing in smaller, more intimate venues. This passion eventually led to the founding of Baroque Music Montana, a non-profit that allows Krause to bring in musicians from all over the world to perform the music that she is most intrigued by, from the Baroque Period. Baroque Music Montana is in its eight season, and performs around fifty concerts per year, mostly in Montana.
