John Robinson is the former tribal judge for the Northern Cheyenne tribe. He has also led one of the most fascinating lives of anyone I’ve met in Montana. He was part of the occupation of Alcatraz in the 1970s, arriving just days after that event started. And a few years later, he became a reluctant participant in the events of Wounded Knee. But John’s greatest gift is his immense knowledge of his tribe’s history, and I wanted to get his perspective on how the history of his tribe is being threatened by events that are happening on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation today.
